My daughter is experiencing nausea and vomiting the day before her menopause. Some days she is in bed all day and heaving all day. Any suggestions?

Oh, How often has this occurred? Consistently every month? That is a bit weird, I have experienced nausea once or twice, but I've never actually thrown up, specially after I started taking Menoaid, I have no such symptoms anymore.

There is a rare condition called dysmenorhea that some women experience. It is when a day or two before their period starts they experience reeeaaallly bad cramping that radiates to their back. Sometimes it's so bad that it is linked to diarhea, vomiting, or nausea, and cramping that is bad enough for it to prohibit normal day-to-day activities. Also with dysmenorhea, the symptoms start one to two days before menstruation begins and becomes the worst the first day of the flow, usually. I think it is linked to abnormal contractions of the uterus. You can get tested for it at a doctor if symptoms persist, but it's not very common... although I'm sure half the women on here, myself included, feel their selves sharing symptoms!

Isoflavones are chemical compounds found in soy and other plants that are phytoestrogens, or plant-derived estrogens. They have a chemical structure that is similar to the estrogens naturally produced by the body, but their effectiveness as an estrogen has been estimated to be much lower than true estrogens. Their estrogen potency has been estimated to be only 1/1000 to 1/100,000 of that of estradiol, a natural estrogen.
